Wilma Boevink addresses European Parliament about use of experiential expertise

Today in the European Parliament in Brussels, colleague Wilma Boevink will present the position of the Trimbos Institute on the use of experience-based expertise in mental health. The ‘Empowerment of patients affected by mental health conditions and their self-management of care and treatment’ meeting is organized by the European Parliament Interest Group on Mental Health, Well-being and Brain Disorders.
Objective of the meeting is to discuss the importance and necessity of empowering patients with mental health problems and their self-management of care and treatment. The concept of Call to Action on this topic will be launched and discussed. Afterwards there will be an open discussion on how this can be further advanced at EU level. During this meeting Wilma Boevink will share more about the concept of recovery in European mental health care. She will also point to the Trimbos Institute tradition of using experiential knowledge and experiential expertise as leading factors in innovation of mental health care and related areas.
