Trimbos employee Laura Shields selected as one of Wellcome Trust’s 2016 Frontiers Innovators

Trimbos employee Laura Shields-Zeeman was selected by the Wellcome Trust as one of six Frontiers Innovators this year, for participation in the annual Frontiers meeting in the UK. The Wellcome Trust is UK-based renown funder of medical research, including mental health research.
On the 3rd and 4th of October, 2016, the Wellcome Trust held its annual Frontiers meeting, with this year’s topic focusing on ‘Protecting mental health: acting early against anxiety and depression’. The meeting was held in London and brought together global experts from neuroscience, mental health, population health, digital technology, social science, education and policy. The meeting explored what research and support is needed to stimulate progress for the prevention and early detection of anxiety and depression and to facilitate the implementation of this research into policy and practice. Frontiers Innovators are early-career researchers selected and invited by Wellcome Trust to contribute their ideas based on their ongoing work in the thematic area.
