Second EUCOMS Network meeting in Belfast

January 15, 2017

From the 15-18 January the Second EUCOMS Network meeting took place in the Lombard House in Belfast, hosted by our network partner Inspire Wellbeing.

Over forty partners from thirteen countries came together because they want to make a difference with and for people with a mental illness by working together to improve their own service delivery and advocate for strengthening of mental health systems. This aspiration has been underlined by over thirty partners, including service provider- and user organisations, who have signed the values and ambitions to become an official member of the EuCoMS Network. The next step towards the realization of these ideals are made with inspiring discussions of the consensus paper outlining what good quality CMHC entails and what is needed to implement it. Workshops and lectures on the second day of the meeting gave partners the opportunity to share knowledge and experiences on current practices with special focus on CMHC in post conflict areas. We thank our members for their valuable input and hope to welcome them during the next meeting in Hamburg to further strengthen our collaboration to advance and support quality community mental health care in Europe and beyond.
