The Trimbos Institute will support governments in Central Asia in revising and renewing existing drug Strategies, action programs and drug legislation. They will use methods that were proven effective in the EU, that conform to international standards, and that meet the national needs in Central Asia.
In April 2015, the European Commission’s Directorate General for Health and Food Safety (DG SANTE) and the Consumers, Health, Agriculture, Food Executive Agency (CHAFEA) awarded a tender to a Consortium, led by the Trimbos Institute, together with the NOVA University of Lisbon, the Finnish Association for Mental Health and EuroHealthNet under the supervision and in close cooperation with the Group of Governmental Experts on Mental Health and Well-being.
Early this year the Trimbos Institute started up the project ‘Reform of Mental Health Services in Moldova’, as contracted by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation. Its purpose is to reform the mental health system in Moldova and make it more accessible. To implement this the Trimbos Institute opened up an office in Moldova.
From the 2nd to the 8th of November, 2014, a high-level delegation from Moldova visited the Netherlands for exposure to the Dutch mental health system. The visit formed part of the project supporting the reform of mental health services in Moldova, mandated by the Swiss Development Cooperation and implemented by the Trimbos Institute.
