Dialogue on Diabetes and Depression

Objective:
The project assesses which treatment strategies for depression have proven effective for people with diabetes and which approaches lead to a reduction of diabetes-related symptoms in addition to the mental health improvements.
Additional information:

Depression is common in people with diabetes, and it adversely affects the course of the illness. Depression comorbid with diabetes increases the risk of complications like blindness and heart or kidney disease. Self-care practices such as monitoring glucose levels and adjusting insulin intake may also be neglected.

About this project:

Treatment strategies shown effective for depression will be identified in a literature review. The Dialogue on Diabetes and Depression works to improve the treatment and care of people with depression and diabetes. International experts on diabetes and depression exchange knowledge and discuss how to best improve services to this group. The literature study is one step in this care improvement process.
