About this project:

Objective

  • Address the emerging problem of drug-related HIV
  • Develop access to HIV prevention, treatment and other health services for the drug using populations
  • Stimulate the development of health promotion and HIV services for drug users by initiating and facilitating local pilot health services in two key regions affected by drug use in South Africa: Johannesburg and Cape Town

Result
The project has linked international expertise, local research and health service delivery in South Africa, built capacity of local health initiatives and it has offered support to policy makers in developing comprehensive and inclusive health policies for drug using populations.
