The Trimbos Institute has carried out a great number of (international) projects in the field of drug policy evaluation.
The Unit International Affairs has evaluated a number of national drug policies, e.g. the evaluation of the Hungarian Drug Strategy, the evaluation of the Drug Action Plan of Luxembourg and the evaluation of substitution maintenance programmes in Slovenia.
For the European Commission the Trimbos Institute produced an Inventory of harm reduction responses in all EU Member States. On request of the European Commission, the Trimbos Institute produced an analysis of the operation of global illicit drugs markets 1998-2007 in corporation with RAND.
In 2009, the Trimbos Institute and the WODC (Research and Documentation Center of the Dutch Ministry of Justice) presented the evaluation of the Dutch National Drug Policy.
